Abstract

In this paper, first, various chaos definitions, the qualitative and quantitative features of chaos, and the mechanisms of chaos are analyzed and reviewed systematically. Second the qualitative and quantitative methods to determine chaos are developped. Third, we present a new method to search directly the border points of chaos by economic data. Fourth, we propose the concept of chaotic degree, and design the software for judging chaos. Finally, on the basis of the above theory and methods of chaotic economics, we study the wave of demand and supply of agricultural products and the unbalance of coal between demand and supply in China.
