You have the choice between two search procedures:

a simple search engine based on the Unix fgrep
command.
The search is not case sensitive and does not support
regexps.
This also is the faster search algorithm.

a search engine based on the Unix egrep command.
The search is not case sensitive and does support regexps.
In case of doubt use the simple search.
