Research interests and fields of excellence

• reconstruction of geomorphi c processes in the Alps (debris flow, snow avalanche, rockfall)

• investigations on past lahar activity at Popocatépetl volcano.

• spatio-temporal comparison of debris-flow activity in different channels and torrents

• identification of rainfall thresholds for the triggering of debris flows

• analysis of synoptic weather situation related to the occurrence of debris flows

• trend analysis of extreme precipitation events in the Alps

• impact of climatic change on geomorphic processes
