Areas of Interests
Hydrology in mountain areas: Temporal analysis of hydroclimatic variables, relationships between climate and trends in snow accumulation, effect of topography and land cover on snow distribution, influence of snowmelt on river regimes and interannual variability of discharges, water balances, analysis of extreme events.
Spatial modelling of nivometeorological variables: Utilzation of spatial statistics and snow accumulation and melting models for predicting spatial distribution of snow and other climatic territories over mountainous areas.
Study of the availability and mangement of water resources: Management patterns of reservoirs related with the availability of water resources, hydrological impacts derived from reservoir management (changes in fluvial regime, magnitude and frequency of extreme events, etc), reservoir siltation processes.
Recent evolution of the Pyrenean glaciers: Changes in the location of the Equilibrium Line since the L.I.A., evolution of glaciated areas in the Pyrenees in relation to climate variability and the topographic context of the glacial cirques.
