MODEL RUNS AND DIAGNOSTICS

All models will be run by the principal investigator/ owner. The results of these runs will be collected at a common storage (e.g., FTP server) and then processed by the working group on intercomparison.

The format of models output will be unified and the tools for fast processing of output and intercomparison will be developed.

Common diagnostics will also be developed.

There are two groups of lake state variables, which will be considered in intercomparison. The first is of special interest for atmospheric part of LAKEMIP community, and includes lake surface temperatures, as well as heat, moisture and momentum fluxes. The second is important in hydrological applications and contains “internal” lake variables and parameters, especially the vertical water temperature profiles, that are crucial for both lake dynamics and ecological processes.
