Collaborations

The Platform for International Water Law is part of the Geneva Water Hub and collaborates with the Institute for Environmental Sciences (ISE)

Makane Mbengue teaches courses on international environmental law, international water law, and climate change and international law at ISE. Mara Tignino is responsible for the module on international water law within the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in “Gestion et politique de l’eau” ("Water management and policies"). Members of the Platform regularly collaborate with international organizations, governments, research institutes and non-governmental organizations

Laurence Boisson de Chazournes taught a course on dispute resolution involving freshwater resources at the University Paul Cezanne (Aix-Marseille III) from 2006 to 2008.

In 2010, Mara Tignino was a Visiting Scholar at the School of Law of George Washington University in Washington D.C. and was invited to participate in the project on "Strengthening Post Conflict Peace-building through Natural Resource Management".

Mara Tignino was also a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lille from 2011 to 2013, where she taught a course on the law of international organisations and the role of international financial institutions in the management of natural resources. She was also a Visiting Professor in 2013 at the Libera Università Internazionali degli Studi Sociali in Rome, where she taught a seminar on international water law as part of a course on international environmental law and human rights law. More recently in 2015, Mara Tignino was also a Visiting Researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona, where she taught a seminar on water in a global society as part of the Master on International Relations.
