Building Capacity for a Black Sea Basin Observation and Assessment System supporting Sustainable Development" (2009-2013)
Objectives : to set up an infrastructure and to implement analytical modules that will enable the production time series of prospective demographic data to be used as input for the hydrological catchment models (WP 4) as well as for the impact assessments of impacts on societal benefit areas (WP5). The demographic data and models should also be of use for any other users interested in harmonised, disaggregated and projected information on population distribution.

Governance of Forest Multiple Outcomes in the Bolivian Lowlands (GOFOR-Bolivia) Livelihood and Sustainability Research

Objectives : the project aims to: 1) create understanding of how institutional arrangements are linked to site-specific patterns of Land Use, Land Cover and Forestry Changes (LULCFC); 2) assess the livelihood outcomes related to different forms of forest and agricultural practices, considering their implications for biodiversity conservation and carbon sequestration.

SNIS Refugee Flows and Transnational Ethnic Linkages

Objectifs : Creation of 2 datasets to improve research on the migration-conflict connection : a global dataset which contains information on the primary ethnic groups of regees flows between states and a dataset listing refugee point of origin in the sending country and point of settlement in the receiving country.Project Leader : Prof. Cederman ETH Zürich
