Dr. Mahbod Heidari joined the Chair for Energy Efficiency at University of Geneva as postdoc senior researcher in 2015. He earned his Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland), his M.Sc. degree from University of Manchester and his B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology in Tehran, Iran in energy systems. Mahbod‘s research interests include energy storage, optimization of energy systems and modelling of thermo-fluid systems. During his PhD he worked on the development, analysis and experimental testing of a finned piston compressor, a new and promising machine, which can be used for isothermal Compressed Air Energy Storage (iCAES). The main goal was to improve the energy performance of current reciprocating compressors. The topic of his postdoc research at University of Geneva is the identification and analysis of technical measures for energy efficiency improvement in industry and in households, in collaboration with the Competence Center for Research in Energy, Society and Transition (CREST) and also Services Industriels de Genève (SIG).
