M. Jibran S. Zuberi obtained his Bachelor degree in Polymer and Petrochemical Engineering from NED-UET, Karachi and Master degree in Sustainable Environment and Energy Systems from the Middle East Technical University - Northern Cyprus Campus (METU-NCC). He joined University of Geneva in October 2014 as Ph.D. student and research assistant in the Group Energy Efficiency. His Ph.D. thesis is embedded in projects conducted in the context of the ‘Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research – Efficiency of Industrial Processes (SCCER-EIP)’ under the supervision of Prof. Martin Patel and in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences in Lucerne (HSLU). The objective is to build an industrial energy efficiency database with technical and economic data on individual energy saving measures (important parameters are relative energy savings, trade-offs for energy use elsewhere, investment costs, operational costs, lifetime etc.). On this basis he is developing ‘energy efficiency cost curves’ for selected industrial sectors and process groups in Switzerland. As research assistant, he has also co-supervised a couple of Master theses. Previous positions he held included Teaching Assistant at Chemical Engineering Dpt. - METU-NCC, Management Associate at Midas Safety (Beltexco Ltd.) and Internee at Engro Polymer and Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. (PVC operations).
