I am a professor of Cognitive Psychology in the Psychology Department of the University of Geneva.
I studied psychology and psycholinguistics at the University of Bielefeld where I earned my diploma in 1997. My doctoral and postdoctoral work was on perception and action at the Max-Planck Institute in Munich. I received my doctor’s degree and my Habilitation at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich in 1999 and 2002, respectively. Prior to my appointment in Geneva in 2004, I was a research fellow at the University of Giessen.
My current research is on eye movements (smooth pursuit and saccades), distractor effects, attention, and eye-hand coordination
(see my publications).
I teach undergraduate classes on cognitive psychology, sensation and perception as well as graduate classes on attention and executive functions, perception and action, and programming
(see my teaching page).
