Guidelines for proposal submission
The conference welcomes paper, poster and symposia submissions.
Proposals have to be
submitted in English through the website. Proposals will
consist of an
abstract (about 400 words), an extended summary (about 1250 words) needed for review and up to 4
keywords. Symposia, individual papers and posters must address some
aspect of the field of psychological analysis of intellectual
disability. They consist of empirical or experimental reports, or
syntheses of some special research field. Both oral and poster
presentations must include (a) research question(s) and hypotheses,
methods, results, discussion of results and educational/psychological
relevance.
The proposals will be reviewed by the
Scientific Committee. Based on this review a proposal can either be
accepted, rejected or offered an alternative presentation format. The
decision will be e-mailed to you by March 15, 2010. The abstracts of
all accepted presentations will be published online on the website as
well as in an abstract book which will be provided to the
conference participants.
Symposia
The time slot will allow four oral presentations of 20 minuteseach,
followed by a short discussion with the audience. A fifth paper may be
included, but please be advised that we cannot guarantee a larger time
slot. The
organizer(s) of each symposium will provide additional information to
the presenters about the organization of the session and will fix the
deadline for sending the papers. Each presenter has to register
individually for the conference.
Papers
Every oral presentation will take
20 minutes followed by a short discussion with the audience.
Equipment for symposium and paper presentations
The meeting room is equipped with an
overhead projector as well as a laptop connected to a beamer for
PowerPoint presentations. Please note that Macintosh PCs will NOT be
available. Every presenter must bring a copy of the PowerPoint
presentation on CD ROM or USB key.
Posters
Poster presentations will be
organized in chaired sessions. The chairs of the poster sessions will
steer the discussion. All poster sessions will take place in a
designated room. The poster boards will be numbered (the number of each
poster will be indicated in the programme). Posters will be grouped by
theme to facilitate exchanges among authors and visitors. The
poster should clearly show the title, authors' names and affiliations.
It should be readable from a distance of 1-2 meters. Poster size should
be limited to 100 cm (width) by 150 cm (height). Adhesive tape for
attaching the poster will be available.
Please note that a photocopy service
will NOT be available at the
conference. If you want to provide handouts to participants attending
your symposium, paper or poster session, you will need to bring the
number of copies you are going
to provide.
