The MAS in Humanitarian Action is part of CERAH's training offer containing
1 MAS, 1 DAS and 1 CAS with 6 specialisations.

objectives
To propose theoretical and practical tools for humanitarian professionals in order to improve the intervention strategies of humanitarian organisations as well as the relevance of their programmes and projects
To encourage exchange of experience but also to examine the development and characteristics of humanitarian action from a multidisciplinary perspective
; To analyse contemporary humanitarian challenges through the emergency/development debate set against contexts of armed conflict, ’natural‘ catastrophes and social exclusion using case studies of recent humanitarian crises
To enable the acquisition of specific competences in strategic, organisational or operational fields.
audience
Professional working in the humanitarian sector and related fields
programme
A core curriculum of 3 months of intensive course work on the theory and fundamental questions of humanitarianism, including courses on research methodology
Two elective courses of 6 weeks, selected from 6 optional courses:
• Strategic planning and management of humanitarian programmes
• Communication and advocacy for humanitarian projects
• Disaster management
• Health in humanitarian emergencies
• Legal environment of humanitarian action
• Human resources management in humanitarian settings
A master dissertation, which is worked on throughout the programme and presented at the end
