Research

The Department of Translation conducts research in the following key areas:

  • Legal and institutional translation
  • Multilingualism and language policy
  • Revision and quality assurance
  • Literary translation
  • Translation and society
  • Techno-pedagogy for remote translation

Various studies, including doctoral dissertations, are in progress in these areas.

The Department’s professors lead two research groups: Transius, which specialises in legal and institutional translation, and élf (Observatoire économie langues formation) which focuses on economics, languages and education.

Publications by members of the Department are listed in the UNIGE open archive, in the Geneva Library Network catalogue and on teachers’ personal pages.
