These S-Plus functions and their documentation have been developed by Landcare Research in Hamilton (New Zealand) for Splus 2000 & Splus 6.x for windows. An R version of GRASP exists now and can the CRAN server. They have been made widely and freely available in order to promote the application of spatial predictions in environmental management and elsewhere.

Acknowledgement
The development of GRASP was made possible by the New Zealand’s Foundation for Research through the program “ A methodology for the selection of biodiversity indicators “. The authors gratefully acknowledge the Swiss National Science Foundation for funding Anthony Lehmann Postdoc at Landcare Research in Hamilton. This work benefited greatly from comments and help of Mike Austin, Simon Barry, Antoine Guisan, Margaret Cawsey, Emmanuel Castella, Thomas Yee, Fabien Fivaz and Geoff Pegler. Further developments have been made possible with the support of the Swiss Centre for the Cartography of Fauna.
