GARNET (A NETWORK OF EXCELLENCE ON GLOBAL GOVERNANCE, REGIONALISATION AND REGULATION: THE ROLE OF THE EU)

Garnet is a network of excellence under the EC FP 6 programme. 44 Academic institutions throughout Europe were associated to its launching. It has been accepted by the European Commission and is funded from the EC budget from 2005 to 2009.

Ongoing projects:

The University of Geneva and its European Institute play an active role in the management of one of the Jointly executed Research projects:

JERP 5.2.2: International Law, Sovereignty and Global Governance, which is being coordinated by Prof. N. Levrat, in co-operation with partners from Leiden University (Prof. N. Schrijver), VUB (Prof. S. Oberthur) and ULB (Prof. M. Telo).

The IEUG is also strongly involved in the Network of PhD schools and will hold the December 2007 session in Geneva, on the theme of „the role of EU, WTO & international economic institutions in global governance ».
