In the framework of its internationalization strategy, the University of Geneva takes part in several academic networks and alliances, in addition to bilateral relationships. These networks increase the institution's international visibility and offer various opportunities for collaboration and exchange. 	League of European Research Universities Founded in 2002, LERU is a an association of the leading European research-intensive universities that share the values of high-quality teaching within an environment of internationally competitive research.
	Coimbra Group Founded in 1985, the Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European multidisciplinary universities of high international standard. The Coimbra Group is committed to creating special academic and cultural ties in order to promote internationalization, academic collaboration, excellence in learning and research, and service to society. Among others, UNIGE participates in student exchanges through Coimbra SEN and hosts doctoral students supported by the Coimbra Group.
	Agence universitaire de la Francophonie The AUF is one of the most important higher education and research associations in the world. The AUF has also been the Francophonie's operating agency for higher education and research since 1989.
