Candidature process

  • Have thesis topic approved by the relevant faculty at each institution;
  • Obtain the agreement of the two thesis advisors, who will then jointly supervise the dissertation work;
  • Apply for enrollment at the University of Geneva;
  • Ask the International Affairs the model agreement for joint doctoral degree;
  • Complete the agreement form, including the names and functions of the various signatories;
  • Submit the complete application to the International Affairs, which will then review it together with Legal Affairs;
  • Comunicate the name and the email address of the person in charge of the International Affairs in the partner university to our office, which will amend and send the documents onto them;
  • Obtain signatures, first from the thesis advisor and then from the dean. At the UNIGE, the International Affairs will obtain the Rector’s signature;
  • Send to UNIGE a copy of the doctoral diploma once it has been issued by the partner University.
