Education & Research
To better serve its international vocation, the University of Geneva has set a goal to promote cooperation with international organisations (IOs and NGOs) in the field of education and research. With this in mind, several programmes have already been set up in collaboration with major international organisations.
These include: the establishment of a Citizen Cyberscience Center (in partnership with CERN and UNITAR); the creation of the Centre for Interpreting in Conflict Zones (InZone) (in collaboration with the ICRC, the ILO, the European Parliament, the UNHCR and Medecins Sans Frontieres; the «Master in Standardization, Social Regulation and Sustainable Development» offered by the Geneva School of Social Sciences (G3S) in collaboration with the ISO. Several educational, research and training programmes have been created by the Institute of Global Health, in cooperation with the most important actors in the field (WHO, ICRC, GAVI, MSF, UNAIDS, etc.)
Since 2011, the University of Geneva manages the scientific coordination of the International Law Seminar, one of the most prestigious United Nations training programmes in the field of international law.
The Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action (CERAH), jointly created with the IHEID,offers a series of courses and degrees in cooperation with leading organisations in the humanitarian field, such as the ICRC, Medecins Sans Frontieres and Handicap International.
