From the individual to the international community

Charged as it is with establishing the rules for human social interaction, the law is a discipline in constant flux. Compulsory reading for aspiring judges and lawyers since antiquity, the law has never ceased to broaden its sphere and today encompasses such diverse fields as finance and the economy, humanitarian and environmental law, culture and international relations… In this same spirit of open-mindedness, the Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva cultivates a special relationship with three of the top-ten law schools in the United States and, alone in Europe, enjoys a student and faculty exchange agreement with the renowned Harvard Law School. Its teachers and researchers benefit from their proximity to numerous international organizations, are deeply involved in developing an international legal system, and maintain close ties to such bodies as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Criminal Tribunals (ICT).
