COLLABORATION AGREEMENTS (IOs/NGOs)

Geneva is one of the most active centers for multilateral diplomacy in the world. The University of Geneva is fully integrated in this international landscape. For many years, the University has played and still plays a crucial role in the development of the “International Geneva”.
In 2010, a new program was created in order to strengthen, actively promote, and intensify even further its partnerships and privileged relations with IOs and NGOs.
The result is a dense net of collaboration agreements. These agreements give an institutional and long-term dimension to relationships, which would otherwise remain based on individuals and, as such, limited in time.
When an agreement is in place, its actors can benefit from the support of the International Relations Office both at UNIGE and in the partner institution. This facilitates contacts, counseling, coordination and knowledge management about the partnership. An agreement consolidates the relationship between institutions, highlights the genuine interest of both parties and, in some cases, can give access to funds in support of specific activities.
