The University of Geneva has long been a respected partner and indispensable "International Geneva" whatever its expertise by the attractiveness of its training and the excellence of its research. To better serve the vocation of Geneva as an international city and further develop its links with international organizations, University of Geneva has set a goal to promote cooperation with international organizations (IOs and NGOs ), in the field of training and research.
In this context, several projects have been set up in collaboration with international
organizations. These include: the establishment of a Citizen
Cyberscience Center, in
partnership with CERN and the United Nations Institute for Training and
Research (UNITAR); the creation of
the Centre for interpretation in crisis areas (InZone),
in collaboration with the ICRC,
ILO, the European Parliament, UNHCR and Medecins Sans Frontieres; the «Master
in Standardization, Social Regulation and Sustainable Development», proposed by the Faculty of Economic and Social
Sciences in collaboration with ISO; the Master of Advanced Studies
in Public Health, in collaboration with WHO; a Training
course on "International Health Regulations", in collaboration
with WHO, Pretoria University and Georgetown University; a Certificate of
Advanced Studies in "Discrimination,
Health and Human Rights", in cooperation with WHO; a UNIGE
/ WIPO Summer School in Intellectual Property; and a series of conferences jointly
organized with the World Economic Forum. Since 2011, the University of Geneva
is in charge with the scientific coordination of the International
Law Seminar, one of the most prestigious training programs of the United
Nations in the field of international law. Finally, the Centre for Education
and Research in Humanitarian Action (CERAH), jointly created
with the Graduate Institute, offers a series of courses and degrees in
cooperation with leading organizations in the humanitarian field, such as the
ICRC, Medecins Sans Frontieres and Handicap International.
