This three-week course in Geneva will explore issues related to global governance and international politics. Students will be immersed in the international world of Geneva as they pursue an interdisciplinary and multilingual program that will provide them with a truly global perspective on current affairs. During this course students will explore issues at the heart of global governance combining lectures in English, intensive French classes and visits to key international organizations in Geneva.
Topics to be explored include:
- Globalization and the theories of international relations
- Actors and patterns of global governance
- Global governance, multilateralism and international organizations: Geneva as a case study
- International law in the age of global governance
- WTO and internationalization
Students will participate in daily French classes in the morning, and will attend lectures and workshops for their global governance course in the afternoon. On the weekend, students will be able to take advantage of their surroundings in Switzerland and participate in cultural and historical excursions. Lectures on international affairs, workshops and visits in international organizations and NGOs, policy debates and round-tables, among other activities, will provide students with a diversified pedagogical experience. Furthermore, students will be immersed in a bilingual environment and will combine these courses in English with intensive daily courses in French.
