InZone presents Rapid Response Module for Humanitarian Interpreting at ORCIT Conference

Free hour-long e-Learning module provides a basic introduction to humanitarian interpreting

On September 23, 2016, three members of the InZone team presented the Rapid Response Module for Humanitarian Interpreting (RRM) at the ORCIT Conference on technology-enhanced interpreter training in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The RRM is a one-hour self-study module which aims to provide newly recruited humanitarian interpreters with a basic grasp of interpreting skills, guidelines for professional practice in a humanitarian context, and a basic understanding of the psychosocial aspects of humanitarian interpreting.

During the presentation, InZone’s team described and demonstrated the RRM and presented results from a study on a recent pilot of the module, which was offered to interpreters working with Translators without Borders in Greece.

The video from this presentation is available here. (InZone’s talk starts 3:33:30 into the video.)

The Rapid Response Module will be made available free of charge to the general public in the near future. If you would like to be notified of its launch, please sign up for InZone’s mailing list.
