Research Interests / Recherches

Dara Jokilehto holds a BA in Modern Chinese Studies from the University of Leeds, UK and an MA in Linguistics from University College London. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Geneva. His doctoral research aims to define a common framework for the implementation of topic, focus and contrast cross-linguistically, from English to Mandarin, Finnish to Farsi and beyond. Dara's main research interests are syntax and its interfaces with semantics and phonology. Further interests of his include morphology, causation in language, passivisation and argument structure.
