Certificate of specialisation in Linguistics – postgraduate studies

The Department of Linguistics in Geneva offers a 1-year (30 ECTS credits) graduate program in Linguistics to students who hold an MA degree in Linguistics or an equivalent diploma. Courses are in English and French.

The program has three components:

  • Methods of analysis (6 credits)
    We offer three accelerated introductory or "update” courses in the areas of specialization in the department, namely Syntax, Pragmatics and Computational Linguistics. Students are required to take two out of three courses.
  • Specialization (12 credits)
    2 seminars.
  • Research (12 credits)
    Attendance and active participation in the departmental research seminars and the submission of a 25-page research paper.
