Philosophy of Science

Degrees

B.A., Philosophy and Comparative Litterature, in Geneva (2011).
M.A., Philosophy, in Geneva (2012).
Master's dissertation on Essentialism and Scepticism about Grounding, under the supervision of Prof. Fabrice Correia.

Research

I am currently writing a dissertation for my PhD, at the University of Geneva, under the joint supervision of Prof. Weber and Prof. Correia. I focus on connections between the metaphysical explanatory relation called grounding and the more familiar explanatory relation called causation, as well as the general notion of explanation. In the context of my research, I was awarded a Doc.mobility grant by the FNS, in 2016, for a project called 'Grounding and Explanation'. Thanks to this grant I spent twelve months at Princeton University (under the supervision of Prof. Dasgupta and Prof. Kment), and six months at the University of Oxford (under the supervision of Prof. Rodriguez-Pereyra).

I am also a member of the Editorial Comitee of the journal Dialectica, a member of Eidos, the Centre for Metaphysics, and a member of the Geneva Centre for the Philosophy of Science. In addition, I am a webmaster of the department's website, which I have put together a few years ago.

Recherche
