Temporary Assistant position and PhD position in analytical theory of knowledge at the department of philosophy, Geneva

The Departement of philosophy of the University of Geneva opens a temporary (one year : oct 2009 – oct 2010) doctoral assistantship position (candoc). Subject area: analytical theory of knowledge. Requirements : a master degree and/or and equivalent degree. Salary 7/10th (46'014 CHF).
The sucessful candidate is expected to start a thesis in analytical theory of knowledge in the university of Geneva under Pascal Engel’s supervision and to give (in French) one undergraduate class per semester in philosophy of language and/ or philosophy of science. The assistant is also expected to collaborate in the projects of the Epistemè group in the theory of knowledge in Geneve () and to be integrated within the PRO-DOC Program “Mind, normativity, self and properties” ( http://www.philosophie.ch/prodoc-romand/pr_home.php).
Thesis project ( in French or in English, 5 to 10 pages of 1500 signs), a sample writing on a topic relevant to the subject area, and CV are to be sent to by regular mail or email to:

Poste d'Assistant temporaire et de doctorant en théorie analytique de la connaissance au département de philosophie de l'Université de Genève

Le Département de philosophie de l’Université de Genève ouvre un poste temporaire (un an : oct 2009-oct 2010) d’assistant doctorant (candoc). La condition pour faire candidature est la possession d’une licence (3 années d’études plus mémoire de licence) ou d’un master, ou un degré équivalent. Le salaire, aux 7/10 èmes pour un recrutement au niveau licence est de 43'506 et de 46'014 CHF pour un recrutement au niveau master.
Le/la candidat(e) entreprendra une thèse sous la direction de Pascal Engel en philosophie analytique de la connaissance, assurera deux heures hebdomadaires (en français) de TP en philosophie du langage et/ou en philosophie des sciences et travaillera au sein du groupe de recherche Epistemè et du programme PRO-DOC romand “Mind, normativity, self and properties”.
Le projet de thèse (en français ou en anglais ; 5 to 10 pages de 1500 signes), un article ou écrit sur un sujet pertinent pour le domaine et un CV sont à envoyer à :
