General information
This postgraduate training starts after having obtained the medical diploma and it leads to a postgraduate title of specialised physician.
In order to practice human medicine, this postgraduate training is compulsory. The right to practice medicine in Switzerland, in a private capacity, is subject to obtaining this title of specialist physician delivered by the Swiss medical association (FMH). To date, it is the only recognized official title, although it is not a university title.
