PHYM sponsors Prize at LS2. Registration Now to Nov 30

LS2Announcement-deadline-3.jpgThe LS2 (formerly USGEB) Annual Meeting will be held Feb 15-16th, 2016 at the Amphipole/Amphimax complex of the University of Lausanne, and is themed on “Interdisciplinary Sciences”.  The PHYM department is significantly involved in the LS2 this year as Prof. Nicolas Demaurex is on the scientific board, Prof. Marc Chanson will be chairing the “Approaches to circumvent channelopathies” session, the first ever “Lelio Orci Award” recognizing excellence in cell biology will be awarded, and the PHYM department will sponsor a 500 CHF prize for the best poster in the Physiology section.

The meeting, which showcases several high-profile international speakers, also offers a variety of career development workshops, including sessions on non-academic, junior and senior career paths, gender issues in science, as well as a “Tomorrow’s PI” competition for senior post-docs. The meeting also features a Nikon-sponsored photo contest, as well as a Young Scientist’s Debate and movies about synthetic biology.
