The primary mission of UDREM is to promote innovation and excellence across the continuum of medical education through its active efforts in development, evaluation, research, service and faculty development.

By its mission, UDREM provides an academic home to faculty members with special interests and expertise in medical education. The Unit of Development and Research in Medical Education is among the few academic units of medical education in Switzerland and in Europe.
