The Romanian-Swiss Research Programme was launched in 2010 as part of the Swiss EU-enlargement contribution. Its objective is to contribute to help reduce economic and social disparities in an enlarged EU.
4 thematic priorities:
- Security, Stability and Support for Reforms
- Environment and Infrastructure
- Promotion of the Private Sector
- Human Social Development
Budget: CHF 181 millions, 2010-2014
Type of funding and eligibility
Project approach: The implementation through projects has been selected for the environment and infrastructure as well as for the private sector focus areas in the Framework Agreement
Thematic approach: the implementation will be financed through projects and activities funded from the following funds:
- Security Fund
- Health Fund
- Civil Society Fund
- Roma and other Vulnerable Groups Fund
- Scholarship Fund
- Research Fund
- Partnership and Expert Fund
The following legal entities are eligible:
- Public and non-public higher education institutions
- Research institutions
- Non-governmental research organisations conducting scientific activities
- Other entities running R&D activities (only non-commercial Swiss entities)
Call for proposal
Calls of activity proposals are planned to be launched during the 4th quarter of the year 2011 and in 2012 for the following Thematic Funds:, Civil Society Reform, Inclusion of Roma and other Vulnerable Groups, Partnership and Expert. The exact dates will be posted on www.swiss-contribution.ro in due time.
