Workshop : "Which region?" 2-3 february 2018

Which region? The spatial and scalar politics of regions and the regional in international politics and security

This two-day workshop will be held in Zurich on 2nd & 3rd February 2018. It will discuss preliminary results from the research project and gain input from international experts in political geography and international relations working on questions related to international regions, spatial politics, scale and governance of the international. Papers will analyse how representations, boundaries and flows constitute regions and the regional scale, and how these are embedded in wider contestations about the arrangements of spaces/places, scales and governance. The workshop papers will be subsequently developed into an edited book or journal special edition.
