Doctorant DUSAN DJORDJEVIC

Dusan will be working in the department of Geography as a research assistant on the project Glo-rete, “Globalization and re-territorialization of environmental initiatives in Europe”, and will be developing his doctorate thesis on the topic of articulation of regional and global actor’s strategies and practices in environmental regionalization. Specific field work will concern the Balkans and the Danube basin.

Concurrently he is working with UNEP/DEWA/GRID - Europe providing consultancy services for the purpose of initiation and delivery of the Dinaric Arc and Balkans Environment Outlook (DABEO) reporting process.

As a Project Coordinator with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), he has worked on promotion of cross-border cooperation in the management and protection of the West Stara Planina Mountain area (Bulgaria/Serbia Border). This work included coordination of activities at a higher project level on the promotion of networks and exchanges in the countries of South-Eastern Europe (Stability Pact framework/Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation).

He has earned his Masters in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management (MESPOM) in the program lead by University of Manchester, Lund University, University of the Aegean and Central European University. He is a graduated Environmental Engineer from the Faculty of Environmental Protection at the University of Niš in Serbia.
