Department of biochemistry

The Department of biochemistry focalises its competence on the molecules of life. Its primary aim is to study the composition and the functions of the complex biomacromolecules that make up living organisms. Its research axes have the following orientations :

  • Membrane dynamics in animal cells
  • Membrane traffic in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae
  • Endocytic trafficking during morphogenetic signaling
  • Higher order structure in nuclei and chromosomes
  • Cell Dynamics: Motility, cytoskeleton and membrane trafficking
