• Sediments as archives of present and former anthropogenic impact on the environment
• Biogeochemical cycles in lakes
• Lacustrine subsurface biosphere
• Microbe-mineral interactions and organomineralization

• A Europe-South America network for Climate Change Assessment and Impact Study in La Plata basin (CLARIS)
• BANBU: Holocene climate change in the Mediterranean Basin across an East to West gradient
• Reconstructing weathering history and eolian input provenances in the western Mediterranean since the Last Glacial Maximum
• African climate change south of the Sahara: the sedimentary record of Lake Chad
• Microbial role in freshwater carbonate ooid precipitation
• Microbial carbonates in Northern Patagonian lakes
