Research discipline: geodynamic, numerical modelling

Research interest:Current research focuses on links between Earth surface processes, climate and tectonics. We are interested in understanding erosion, sediment transport and sedimentation, how mass transport related to surface processes influences tectonics, and how surface processes and landscape morphology relate to climatic, eustatic and tectonic perturbations.

Collaborative Research projects:

  • Modelling interactions between deformation, erosion and sedimentation in foreland basins and fold-thrust belts.
  • Modelling interactions between shallow water flow, sediment transport and morphological evolution.
  • Development of large scale drainage networks in growing orogens.
  • Tectonic, sedimentological and paleonvironmental history of the Marche Apennines.
  • Influence of wedge-rheology on the development of foreland basin systems - insights from the Zagros Orogen and numerical modelling.
  • Mechanical modelling of the stress distribution in the Monte Terri Anticline.
