Thermal Ionization mass spectrometry – MAT262

This mass spectrometer Finnigan MAT262 is equipped with a 7 collectors system (5 moveable Farady cups, 1 fixed center cup and 1 attached cup). It is designed for thermal ionization of samples ranging from lithium to the transuranium. The instrument has been recently upgraded with the new Spectromat softwares, dual Filament Current Supplies and  Ion Source and high voltage Supplies (QHV2 and PHV2). In routine, it is used to analyse as tracers, Nd and Sr, eventually Pb; the measurememt of stable Cl isotopes is in development.
