Gisèle Schmid has been working as a teaching assistant at the Economics Department of the University of Geneva since October 2007. After graduating from the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics (Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Econometrics) she is now working together with the Research Lab on Economics and the Management of the Environment (REME) at EPFL on issues related to the economics of climate change. She is a member of the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Climate.
Gisèle Schmid obtained a Master of Science in Economics (licence) at the University of Geneva with a special focus on Environmental Economics (2005) and a Master of Science in Environmental Studies (MSc) at the University of Lausanne (2007). For her PhD Gisèle Schmid is currently working on the assessment of technology transfer in Kyoto's Clean Development Mechanism projects.

Using contract theory (principal agenr model) to find incentives for the private sector to transfer environmentally sound technologies in CDM projects (work in progress).
