Tidyverse
The tidyverse, developed by Hadley Wickham is an opinionated collection of R packages designed for data science.
All packages share an underlying design philosophy, grammar, and data structures.
- Install the complete tidyverse with: install.packages("tidyverse")
- Main packages in the tidyverse are:
ggplot2 (visualising data), dplyr (manipulating data),
tidyr (tidying data), stringr (working with strings), lubridate(work with date/times),
Data import: readr (reading .csv and fwf files),
readxl (reading .xls and .xlsx files),
haven (SAS, SPSS, and Stata files),
httr (talking to web APIs),
rvest (scraping websites),
xml2 (importing XML files).
