WA archives
This section gives information on how to install WA archives for the
users and the problems associated with these archives.
Installation
In order to activate WA archives you should follow these steps:
-
(1) Create and install a profile file as explained above [if this
has not been done yet].
-
(2) Put any non-blank character in column 10 of this profile file's
header (first line).
-
(3) Add at least one DIR=entry into the first section of this file or
in an environment file used by all users. This DIR= may just contain
a legal name for a user directory, i.e. a file which will be created
in the user's own environment.
As usual with such names take care when selecting the name.
If these files are kept in a separate sub-directory or another
special location select a name making clear that it has to do
with EDA (something like EDAEDA.EDR). If the file is to be kept in
a common location with many other files (it's not recommended, but
you might have your own (or your system's) reasons),
make the name
rather unusual, but hinting to its use by EDA, e.g. E_D_A_D_I_R.___.
