Presentation of the department

Founded in 1969 and with about 50 teachers/researchers, the Department is the teaching and research unit in Political Science of the University of Geneva.

Its members do their research work in the main fields of contemporary political science, and often in collaboration or integrated into the networks of international research.
They widely benefit from the support of the  Fond national de la recherche scientifique (FNRS) and other foundations.

 

 

 

They are also active in:

the International Association of Political Science (IPSA),

the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR),

the Swiss Association of Political Science (ASSP)

as well as in other such societies.  Many of them are regularly invited to give their expertise, especially in public administration and international organizations. 

With about 800 students, the Department of Political Science is responsible for the organization of :

the Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Bachelor)

the Master of Arts in Political Science (Master)

as well as the Doctorate (PhD) in Economic and Social Sciences, mention Political Science.
