Applying for the Bachelor (BA) programme

To be admitted to the BA in Multilingual Communication programme, candidates must meet the registration requirements of the University of Geneva and pass the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI) entrance examinations.

Application procedure

Candidates must complete the following steps:

  1. Before 10 January 2013: registration for the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI) entrance examinations
  2. Before 30 April 2013: request for enrolment at the University of Geneva

a) Registering for entrance examinations

Candidates must submit the following documents:

  • the entrance exam registration form, (46 Kb, pdf)
  • a curriculum vitae,
  • a passport-size photo,
  • photocopies of the final secondary school transcript and diploma or, if the final year is in progress, an official attestation of studies for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Candidates will be notified once the FTI has received their registration documents. In order to confirm entrance exam registration, candidates must sign and return the confirmation form before the deadline indicated. At the beginning of March, candidates will receive a notification by e-mail detailing their examination timetable.

b) Request for enrolment

Enrolment is required by the University and grants students the right to join a Faculty in order to take the courses, seminars, etc. necessary to obtain a university degree. In order to enrol, candidates must sign up on-line on the Admissions office (Service des admissions) website. Candidates should read the registration requirements carefully.

Admission is granted once candidates have passed the entrance exams and the enrolment request has been accepted by the University.

Entrance examinations

In order to be admitted to the BA in Multilingual Communication programme, candidates must have three languages in their language combination (23 Kb, pdf) and pass the entrance examinations (25 Kb, pdf) .

French examination

Candidates whose language combination does not include French must also pass the French examination arranged by the University, except if they qualify for one of the exemptions mentioned in the University registration requirements.

University fees are CHF 500.- per semester.
