The goal is to build an active noise canceling system for open space, for example for a garden along a highway. The main idea is to use information about the type of noise to construct effective filters. Below there is an example where three different types of noises were isolated, and then a sine signal which is contaminated with this type of noise is filtered: This project has been successfully completed by adaptation of an algorithm
to this problem which runs an order of magnitude faster than the current
algorithm in use. The implementation was done in Fortran. I can not give
more information about the solution since I was working under a nondisclosure
contract.
