The last expedition
is here.
Neolithic engravings
display for the Grotte de la Mule on Salève
a scientific level of exactly 1000 meters.
We see Maarit and Esa Järvenpää inspecting
this prehistoric cave
for an eventual re-settlement.
There is no sauna, no coffee, no vodka, no smimming, no skiing,
no biking, no car driving,... but they are not so typical finnish
as to need all that.
1000 meters were not enough ...
Well, if you klimb a mountain to which Swiss topographers
have attributed an altitude of exactly 2998.1 meters, and if
your own size is 1.86 meters, and if you hold your hand 4 centimeters
above you head, you conclude, by a simple calculation,
that this then has a scientific level of exactly 3000 meters!
3000 meters were not enough either ...
Therefore, two excellent Swiss guides learned them to survive
in extreme situations by eating a lot of Edelweiss
,
instructed them important expressions in Schwiizerdüütsch
(Schiiisswätter), climbing steep faces and finally arriving
on the top of
Sasseneire
at a scientific level of 3254 meters.
... and a lot of open problems for the next year ...
The mountain has an artificial top, which
increases its scientific level from 3396 to 3397 meters, but
due to lack of stability this level could not be reached ...
Yes, certified by 1. an Austrian mountain guide (G), 2. a Wallisan
specialist for orienteering, maps, mountain lake temperatures,
and altitudes (M),
3. an observer from a neutral country (S), it has been proved to be certain:
they are here on a scientific level of 4000 meters!! The special algorithm
is the following: go to Allalinhorn, which is 4027 meters, go down
27 meters, subtract the two numbers, and you have 4000 precisely. QED.
the proof is not finished, you have to go back again!!
... and here ARE the solutions:
