Procedure in the event of failure at the French exam
Candidates who fail to pass the exam but who have achieved a B1 level under the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) may enroll in a year of preparatory courses at the School of French language and Civilization (ELCF) before entering the programme of their choice.
Candidates who fail to pass the qualifying exam may resit the exam next year.
Candidates whose results will only be used to assess their level of French may still begin their programme, even if their results are below the pass mark. Their lack of proficiency, however, may prove to be an obstacle during their studies at the university. They therefore have the option of taking French courses to support their studies at the School of French language and Civilization (ELCF).
