Research Assistant position (PhD candidate) in lifespan development (80%, up to 6 years)

With flexible start date between February and June 2023

The successful applicant will study development in different domains including cognition, health, and well-being across the lifespan, as well as assist Prof. Andreas Ihle in tasks related to research, lab management, and teaching.

Desired profile :

  • Master in psychology or a related discipline (applicants with masters defense planned in 2022 or early 2023 can also apply)

  • Very good skills in applying quantitative methods, namely longitudinal data analyses and in handling large datasets

  • Background in cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, clinical or health psychology, and/or interdisciplinary lifespan research

  • Solid programming skills (particularly R)

  • Interest in pursuing an academic career

  • Very good command of English (written and oral)

  • Fluency in French will be considered an advantage. A basic level of French is needed, as well the willingness to reach the desired level in a few months after starting the position (to interact with students and participants)

  • Experience with experimental research in humans is favorable

  • Willingness to supervise masters students

  • Willingness to assist with teaching and administrative tasks

  • Willingness to travel (for conferences and/or international collaborations)

  • Willingness to collaborate with other research groups

 

Offices and Lab location :

Our offices and lab are located in Geneva, Switzerland (28 Boulevard du Pont d'Arve). One needs to be willing to move to Switzerland for the time of the contract.
