swisscovery is evolving: what's new?

swisscovery UNIGE, the documentation search and retrieval platform of the University of Geneva Library and the 490 other Swiss academic libraries that are members of the Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP), has recently undergone some improvements:

UNIFIED REQUEST FUNCTIONS

Requests for physical documents from other libraries in the SLSP network are now possible via a single block. If the document you are looking for is available in the network, an offer will be displayed automatically and it will no longer be necessary to choose a library that owns the document.

Note that this service remains free for the UNIGE community/HUG (6 CHF for external users). More information on the ordering documents outside Geneva page >>

INTEGRATION OF THE LIBRARIES OF THE CANTON OF VAUD

2022_actu_Rapido_Renouvaud_EN.pngWith the new "swisscovery plus" search scope, you can search the collections of 11 scientific and heritage libraries in the "Renouvaud" network, including those of the University of Lausanne, in addition to all the libraries in the SLSP network. These documents can be ordered using the same procedure.

SCAN ON DEMAND POSSIBLE FROM SWISSCOVERY

You can now order scans on demand directly from the bibliographic record of a document by clicking on the "Digitization" button on the desired document. This service, restricted to certain collections, is also free for the UNIGE community/HUG (CHF 5 for external users). More information on the scan on demand page >>

IMPROVED ORDER TRACKING IN YOUR ACCOUNT

After registration, the tracking of your orders in your account is more detailed. All your loans picked up at the University of Geneva Library will be grouped together in a single tab, regardless of the library that provided the document.
