Open Access: Expanded financial fund and new policy

On January 24, the Rectorate of the UNIGE validated new eligibility criteria to benefit from the Publication support fund as well as a new Open Access Policy aimed at promoting the visibility and accessibility of its researchers' work within the scientific community.

Thanks to the financial support of swissuniversities in the framework of the National OA Fund project, the Publication support fund created in 2018 has been expanded and the eligibility criteria revised. The fund now amounts to CHF 100'000 and will be doubled in 2023. The new eligibility criteria as well as a real-time availability gauge of the fund are available on this page.

In the same time, a new institutional Open Access Policy has been approved. In order to support UNIGE researchers in the application of these guidelines, the Library offers several services

  • support at each stage of open access publishing (publish, share, access, edit)
  • thematic training (how to deposit in Archive ouverte UNIGE? how to protect yourself from predatory publishers? etc.)
  • monitoring of the policies and requirements of funders

All this information is regularly updated on the Open Access web pages which have been revamped:

You can also find the interview of the vice-rector A. Geissbuhler on these topics in the UNIGE ejournal (only in French).
