OAP: a new open access journal publishing service

In the context of the Swiss National Strategy and the Institutional Digital Strategy, the UNIGE Library launched the Open Access Publications (OAP) pilot project in 2018 to support Open Access and sharing of data and research results within the UNIGE scientific community.

OAP is a pilot project for a free service for hosting, training and support the use of the OJS (Open Journal Systems) software solution, a tool already implemented by more than 10'000 journals internationally, in order to host and manage editorial processes for Open Access journals edited by UNIGE researcher.

After 3 years of experimentation and building on a total of 6 successfully hosted journals – with a 7th on its way –  the project will continue and as of March 2021 will become a permanent part of the range of services offered by the Library and more broadly by the UNIGE in favour of a more open science.

Please note that for organisational reasons, this service will be limited to the hosting of 3 new journals per year.
