Remember to return your borrowed books before going on holiday
Have you borrowed documents from the Library of the University of Geneva which may be due ?
Before summer, we recommend you log in to your swisscovery UNIGE account to check the due date of these loans.
UNIGE Library documents can be returned during opening hours at any site, regardless of their place of origin. Documents not returned on time will incur late fees, based on the following terms (for most items, with an initial 28 days loan period):
- 1 day after loan term: free reminder
- 6 days after free reminder: 1st paying reminder, CHF 5 per document
- 6 days after the 1st paying reminder: 2nd paying reminder, an additional CHF 5 per document
- 6 days after the 2nd paying reminder: 3rd paying reminder, an additional CHF 10 per document
Further information on the conditions for lending and consulting documents can be found at: unige.ch/-/library/borrowing
Special note: from June 12 to August 2, 2026, UNIGE Library sites will have reduced hours, and some services will be unavailable. Additionally, from June 12 to 18, due to measures related to the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, changes to opening hours and services may occur. Before visiting, please check the real-time schedules at: unige.ch/-/library/hours
The UNIGE Library team wishes you a lovely summer!
